Water rarely drips straight down from the hole that let it in. A leak repair starts in the attic with a flashlight, tracing the stain uphill to the actual entry point — usually flashing around a chimney or vent, a nail that backed out, or a valley worn thin. The fix happens at that spot: new flashing, sealed penetrations, or a small section of shingles worked back in to match the field.
Call when you see a ceiling stain, drips in the attic, or daylight through the boards. Small leaks fixed early stay small; the same leak left through a winter can mean new drywall and insulation on top of the roof work.
