After a storm the first job is making the roof watertight, and the second is repairing it properly. That means an emergency tarp if water is getting in, then a walk of the whole roof to map what the wind actually did: lifted tabs, creased shingles, torn ridge caps, hail bruising you can't spot from the ground. You get photos of all of it.
Ohio squalls tend to take shingles off in patches, so plenty of storm jobs end up as repairs rather than full replacements. If the damage is broad enough to involve your insurance company, the photo record from that first walk is exactly what the adjuster will want to see.
